A while ago I was driving my car through the Shenandoah Valley on a little road trip when all of a sudden I got a vision of myself driving through the Southwest. I was in a car - music playing - seeing the expansiveness of the world in front of me - set out on an adventure that I just knew my soul needed.
Each year, I take a solo trip - or what I like to call a “Soul Trip” for my birthday and the Southwest was calling. I had it all planned out. I would start in Santa Fe - drive through New Mexico into Arizona to see the Grand Canyon and Sedona. There is So much to this trip. There were many synchronicities that happened making everything turn out the way it was meant to be. I’m going to do separate posts on the places I visited to really give each part of the experience the time it deserves. But for now - a little photo sneak peak:
Santa Fe
El Santuario De Chimayo - people visit from all over the world for the Healing/Holy Dirt
Morning Prayer - Painting by David Bradley
Santa Fe Indian Ars and Culture Museum
“A morning offering of cornmeal or corn pollen is a common tradition found throughout the Southwest and carried out by many as they begin their day. They make these offerings to the Ancestors, Sun, Morning Star and other revered spirits to ask for strength, wisdom and good blessing for the day”
Petrified Forest and Painted Desert
Fallen tree in the Petrified Forest
Painted Desert
Expansive beauty that seems to go on for eternity
Grand Canyon
Even when you’re physically here, it feels like you’re looking at a picture.
Mule Ride on the Rim of the Grand Canyon
My mule was Navajo and she was the sweetest girl
Sedona
Standing at the base of one of the many extraordinary red rock mountains
I was told by someone in Sedona to stand at the base of a mountain to manifest - when I did that - there was a strong wind that blew and loud clap of thunder…..more on that story to come
Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park
A place of reverence and prayer
To have the opportunity to be in Awe of God’s beauty for almost two weeks was something I will carry with me. When is the last time you have been in Awe of something…..before this trip, I can’t remember.
